We are currently developing 2 major programs of research in Medical Education. One is in medical workforce and the other is in quality and safety. We have a strong medical education unit with additional research projects in predictive validity of selection instruments, clinical examiners??? decision-making processes and pedagogical research projects including effective teaching in cultural awareness, research-based learning and multiprofessional learning. The medical education unit has expertise in assessment, clinical reasoning, career choice, selection instruments, problem-based learning and curriculum development and evaluation.
We are currently undertaking a large ARC funded national cohort study examining predictors of career choice for medical graduates.
