Clinical Information

There have recently been a number of policy changes within the State Government of Queensland that may affect your Dentistry and Oral Health studies. Queensland Health has issued a mandate that all health care workers should be immunised against Hepatitis B. In addition, the new Privacy Act requires all those working or volunteering in Queensland Health Facilities to sign a confidentiality agreement. And, the state has adopted the Commission for Children and Young People Act1 which requires all those seeking work with children (paid or voluntary) to undergo a suitability check.

To help you comply with these various responsibilities the School of Dentistry and Oral Health has put together comprehensive documentation detailing your requirements. Upon reading these policies and gaining an understanding of your responsibilities a statutory declaration is required to be signed, thereby indicating that you have completed and/or understood your responsibilities. Returned to the School, your signed declaration will be held in the office of School Administration. This will assure all of us that you have received the appropriate information and understand your requirements. Other required forms are detailed throughout the policies. If you have any questions please speak to School Administration.
