Biography
Professor Roger Hughes joined Griffith in 1997 as Foundation Program Convenor of Griffith's Nutrition and Dietetic program. In 2008 he was appointed the first Chair in Public Health Nutrition at USC, returning to Griffith in 2011 as Professor of Nutrition and Dietetics. He has previously been visiting scholar at the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden and was Visiting Professor at Trinity College Dublin in 2008. He is internationally renown for his research on public health nutrition workforce development, previously working as external advisor to workforce development projects in the European Union and more recently in Indonesia for the World Bank.
Between 2004-2010 Roger served as Deputy Editor of Public Health Nutrition, the foremost journal in this field internationally. He is currently Secretary (Professional Affairs) of the World Public Health Nutrition Association.
