Brief History:
Ramon Shaban is Senior Lecturer (Infection Control and Prevention) within the School of Nursing & Midwifery at Griffith University, and Senior Research Fellow (Infection Control and Infectious Diseases) with the Princess Alexandra Hospital. Ramon has an extensive professional career spanning more than a 15 years in clinical practice, education, management, and research. He is a registered nurse, medical scientist, and ambulance paramedic with expertise in emergency primary health care, public health, infection control, infectious diseases, community health, and education. Ramon has particular interests in infection control and prevention in emergency and primary healthcare settings. He is the Australian delegate on the US Association for Professionals in Infection Control (APIC) Infectious Diseases Emergency Preparedness Committee, and an active member of the Australasian Society for Infectious Diseases Healthcare Infection Special Interest Group. Ramon is a Credentialed Infection Control Practitioner (CICP), and has more than 50 scholarly publications. He has attracted over $500,000 in competitive and strategic research funding. He is a statutory member of the Queensland Emergency Medical Systems Quality Council, a Clinical Research Leader with the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) National Institute of Clinical Studies in Australia, and is Editor-in-Chief of the Australasian Emergency Nursing Journal.Research & Interests:
