The Achilles healing project is a pilot randomized control trial evaluating treatments for painful Achilles tendinosis and aims to discover the most effective treatment for persistent Achilles tendon pain, a condition that affects up to 17% of active people. The project examines the effects of prolotherapy injections, eccentric loading exercises and a combination of the two treatments.

The study is entering the final stages of evaluating the effectiveness of treatments and treatment preferences.

This project has been successful in obtaining three small funding grants to support the full randomized control trial.
