Journal clubs
Journal clubs focus on specific topics or disciplines, and are open to any primary health care practitioner interested in developing skills in critical appraisal of the literature to assist them in providing evidence-based practice for their patients.
We invite clinicians to develop journal clubs in their discipline or topic of interest.
Pain management journal club
Join us on the first Tuesday of every month from 1-2pm for our teleconferenced journal club on Pain Management. Link in by telephone from wherever convenient and we pay for the call.
The meetings are chaired by Associate Professor Michael Yelland who invites a different journal club member to co-lead each session. The co-leader selects the article to be reviewed and helps lead the discussion. The article and details on how to access the teleconference are emailed to participants at least one week in advance. During the meeting participants discuss the merits of the article, considering the results obtained, methods used, and the value of the study to inform practice.
