Our Pharmaceutical Science degree will provide you with an in-depth study of drugs and medicine and the effects these have on tissues and organs. Upon graduation you will be in demand as an employee to multinational pharmaceutical companies, new biotechnology companies and drug discovery research centres.
You will also have an excellent basis for further postgraduate training in a health professional or research field.
If you wish to pursue a career as a pharmacist you can complete a Master of Pharmacy, followed by pharmacist intern training. Pharmacy is expanding into many new and innovative areas where you will work closely with other health care professionals.
There are also a range of programs available if you are interested in research.
You can apply for the Griffith Health Group Honours Program and undertake advanced study and a supervised research project that develops research skills in a multidisciplinary environment.
You can also undertake a Master of Pharmacy with Honours degree, which may lead to a higher degree, such as a Master of Philosophy or Doctor of Philosophy. You will then be well placed for a career in research, academia, or in new emerging areas of the pharmaceutical industries.
The Master of Medical Research program is designed to develop your skills in critical analysis, applied scientific research methodology and statistical analyses while undertaking a supervised research project. This program will prepare you for higher degree studies and professional employment.
