The midwife is recognised as a responsible and accountable professional who works in partnership with women to
- give the necessary support, care and advice during pregnancy, labour and the postpartum period
- conduct births on the midwife’s own responsibility
- provide care for newborns and infants.
Griffith’s midwifery degree will prepare you to become a competent practitioner in a range of settings.
You will be taught by experienced professionals with strong links to the industry and industry organisations such as the Australian College of Midwives.
We offer clinically-relevant courses and you have the opportunity to gain extensive hands-on experience in our on-campus laboratories and within hospitals and other off-campus clinical settings.
Upon graduation you will be eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and membership of the Australian College of Midwives.
