Research Programs
Drawing on the research expertise from Griffith University's Health Group, GHI has established six Research Programs, each focusing on a particular research strength. These Research Programs are: 


1. Heart Foundation Research Centre is an accredited National Heart Foundation research centre studying cardiovascular disease. Read more about the HFRC.
2. Molecular Basis of Disease focuses on defining the molecular basis of common human illnesses, and identifying molecules that are involved in disease susceptibility, progression and prognosis. Includes a research program on breast cancer and lymphoma. Read more about MBoD.
3. Clinical and Community Practice Innovation conducts research in four main areas (acute and critical care, ageing and older people, family and maternity, and nutrition), aiming to find solutions to health care challenges, and improve health and community care. Hosts the Griffith Clinical Trials Unit and the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Nursing Interventions.REad more about RCCCPI.
4. Behavioural Basis of Health applies psychological knowledge to understand human behaviour and promote health and emotional wellbeing. Read more about BBH.
5. Population and Social Health Research investigates the interaction between the social environment and health, in particular mental health and economic evaluations of health care treatments. Read more about PSHRP.
6. Centre for Musculoskeletal Research works on developing approaches to the prevention and management of musculoskeletal conditions such as arthritis and osteoporosis. Read more about CMR.
In addition, the Institute also cultivates emerging areas of research strength such as pharmacy research.
