This program is designed for the general dental practitioner who wants to develop the necessary competences to safely and effectively plan and execute treatments with dental implants. The program brings together a multidisciplinary and international team of teachers and experts and will cover a wide array of topics in implant dentistry.
The program aims to develop the interdisciplinary and comprehensive capacity for the design and execution of treatments with dental implants.
The program will blend face-to-face teaching, mentoring and online interactive learning, while building on your prior experience and working environment. Clinical practice forms a large proportion of the program, which is offered part-time over two years.
Professional recognition
Upon completion of this program the dentist will be competent to:
- assess patients including detailed risk profiling and establish comprehensive, evidence-based treatment plans including dental implants
- independently plan and execute a wide array of straightforward and advanced implant-related treatments including surgical placement, prosthetic restoration and management of complications
- coordinate multidisciplinary treatment teams if required, including allied health personnel, dental specialists, dental technicians and physicians
Possess a profound and critical understanding of the:
- scientific literature in the field of implant dentistry
- social, ethical and professional aspects of the practice of implant dentistry
- complex techniques and procedures within implant dentistry
