Research expertise

  • Professor Shum is a neuropsychologist who specialises in the study of the effects of brain injury in children and adults
  • In particular, he is interested in the effects of brain injury on cognitive processes such as attention, memory, and executive function
  • He has developed innovative neuropsychological tests to assess visual memory and executive function
  • He has also conducted studies that evaluated the effectiveness of various neuropsychological rehabilitation techniques

Current teaching areas

  • Professor Shum has experience in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate subjects
  • His main areas of teaching include biological psychology, cognitive neuroscience, psychological assessment, and neuropsychology
