BBH would like to congratulate Prof Suzanne Chambers who has been awarded the prestigous William Rudder Fellow for 2013.

This award honours William Rudder who was a founding member and first CEO of Cancer Council Queensland.  This fellowship is awarded in alternate years to a distinguished person from overseas and a person in Queensland and is appointed by the Cancer Council Queensland by invitation only to an acknowledged expert in some aspect of cancer.

Warmest congratulations again to Suzanne.

 

BBH would like to congratulate the following members on their achievements:

Joe Reser, Graham Bradley and Ian Glendon in regards to a successful NCCARF funding grant they are involved in with research commencing in January 2012.


Title: "Enhancing climate change communication: strategies for profiling and targeting Australian interpretive communities".
Amount: $80,000
UNE initiated research grant with designated PI Prof Don Hine from the School of Behavioural Cognitive and Social Sciences.


Joe is also involved in another successful NCCARF funding grant with research also commencing in January 2012:

Title: "Aboriginal responses to climate change in arid zone Australia-regional understandings and capacity building for adaptation".
Amount: $350,000
UQ initiated research grant with designated PI Prof Paul Memmott with the lead organisation at UQ the Aboriginal Environments Research Centre.


Successful ASI Chronic Disease Prevention Innovation Project Grants- $100,000 each

1.    Associate Professor David Neumann - A multidisciplinary approach to promoting social cognition and functioning in chronic schizophrenia
    David led the team of David Shum, Raymond Chan, Chris Lloyd, Petrea Cornwell and Lyn Griffiths

2.    Dr Allison Waters - Enhancing treatment outcomes for childhood anxiety disorders: An interdisciplinary approach
    Allison led the team of Lara Farrell, Laetitia Hattingh, Harry McConnell, Melanie Zimmer-Gembeck, Caroline Donovan and Thomas Ollendick

A good outcome for BBH in regards to these grants.

Received Best Paper Awardat the 9th Industrial and Organisational Psychology Conference in Brisbane.

Dr Allison Waters
Invited to be a member of the Research Advisory Committee for the Queensland Children's Medical Research Institute

Dr Tamara Ownsworth
Invited onto the Editorial Board of a new journal: Neuro-disability & Psychotherapy: A Forum for the Practice and Development of Psychological Therapies for Neurological Conditions
