General admission information
The GUMURRII Unit can help you decide what study options are best suited to you and help finalise your enrolment details. Subject to eligibility, Unit staff can organise personal tutoring, help you apply for grants and scholarships and assist students with a smooth transition into Griffith University.
Applying to study through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre is another option to enrolling in undergraduate programs. Whether you are intending to apply to enrol at Griffith university as a school-leaver, or as a mature-aged student wanting to upgrade your qualification, simply contact a Learning Assistance Officer for further information.
Alternate entry program
Griffith University offers an Alternate Entry Program to Indigenous people seeking university admission. The program is designed for Indigenous school leavers and mature aged people who have not obtained or completed university entry level courses or TAFE bridging programs. Through the AEP GUMURRII Support Staff can assist you in determining the appropriate course of action for university study. As a mature age person, individual life skills and transferable work experiences may have provided individuals with adequate skills and experience to undertake academic study.
Proof of Indigeneity is mandatory prior to students being offered admission through the Alternate Entry Program.
The staff at the GUMURRII Unit are highly qualified to provide you with any advice in relation to studying at Griffith University.
For more information about the GUMURRII Alternate Entry Program, please contact the Unit.
I wanted to go to university and when I applied at Griffith the GUMURRII Centre staff contacted me to discuss the Alternate Entry program. I attended an interview and it went so well I moved from Hervey Bay to start a Bachelor of Forensic Science.
The GUMURRII Centre provides lots of assistance, but what I found really helped me was how the staff and students helped me organise accommodation and adjust to life in Brisbane. I attended the GUMURRII Pre-Orientation program and found the lectures and discussions very useful, and I still use all the resources that were provided in our pre-orientation booklets. The GUMURRII Centre has helped me a lot, and I look forward to the next three years at Griffith.
