Queensland College of Art (Visual Media) Experience Day

The Queensland College of Art (QCA) is the premier institution for visual arts and design education in Queensland.  Celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2006, the QCA’s origins extend back to 1881 and it is recognised as one of the state's heritage institutions.  As the precursor of technical and further education in Queensland, it has served the community well over the years, and remains one of the largest institutions of its kind in the country.

The College offered the first degrees and postgraduate qualifications in the visual arts in Queensland, and continues to provide high quality educational opportunities at both the South Bank and Gold Coast campuses. The QCA student community, which includes the Griffith Film School, comprises of over 1000 artists, designers, animators, photographers and filmmakers, who come from around Australia and some 25 other countries.  Over the years it has trained and promoted many distinguished artists and designers who have not only contributed to Queensland's cultural identity but to that of the nation.

Up to the minute facilities at Griffith Gold Coast include: art and design studios, three computer labs, a Visual Effects Studio and open-plan workshop spaces for Visual Media artists studying in the areas of 3 Dimensional Design, Digital Design, ePhotojournalism, Fine Art and Graphic Design.
