What some people are saying about Griffith REVIEW

Griffith REVIEW is the new quarterly publication of ideas and fine writing which is produced by Griffith University in conjunction with ABC Books. Griffith REVIEW has been welcomed by high profile and new writers alike. Here is some of the feedback received to date:

The Current Issue

Australia is a country of immigrants, but a million Australians live abroad. They still call Australia home, but in the global village notions of belonging and citizenship have changed. The stunning new writing in this issue bursts with news insights into what it means to be Australian today and the political and policy changes this movement presents. Writers including Peter C.Doherty, Patrick McCaughey, Brian Castro, Tony Maniaty, Peter Skrzynecki and many more who explore how they move between countries and worlds, belonging, adjusting and moving on.

The current issue is titled Our Global Face and explores the nature of the Australian diaspora. It is full of stories of coming and going and belonging in the global village. It is a delightful read, but with some serious issues as well.

Next Issue

The Lure of Fundamentalism is due for publication in February 2005. It examines the resurgence of religion in politics, the nature of fundamentalism and its allure. It will feature a major new essay on the Middle East by the veteran journalist Murray Sayle, as well as the usual mix of shorter essays, reportage, memoir, poetry, fiction and art.
