Personalising content

You are able to customise your Portal window.

  • Choose the portlet options which you wish to view
  • Change the layout to your requirements

To customise your Portal

  1. Click 'Personalize Content' in the top right corner
  2. Select the portlets which you wish to see in your home page. Please note, the number of portlets which will be available will increase over time and may change according to the academic calendar. Griffith Portal personalise layout
  3. Choose 'Personalise layout' Griffith Portal layout
  4. Select your preferred layout (2 or 3 columns)
  5. Click a portlet and use the left and right arrows to move it to the required column. (Note: Portlets with a ???#??? before them cannot be moved or removed.)
  6. Use the up and down arrows to move the portlet into the required position
  7. Choose Save to return to the Portal Home Page
  8. Your Portal window will now reflect the changes you just made.

Portlet options

A number of portlets are available to be viewed on your Griffith Portal home page. You may choose to turn these on and off as often as you wish. The available portlets include:

Connect Here
Holds a set of key links to systems that are frequently used.
Griffith News
Griffith News provides regular releases about important events, discoveries and news from the University.
Griffith Announcements
Griffith Announcements will display important and usually temporary announcements / notices which are relevant for all staff and students.
Griffith Events
Griffith Events lists upcoming Griffith events. Event information will include the date and time of the event, where the event is to be held and a brief outline about the event and contact details for further information.
Library and IT Help
This portlet will display status information about your current and recent requests logged in Library and IT Help. A link to Library and IT Help is available for further detail.
Key Services
Holds a set of key links to key services that are frequently used.
Personalise this Page
This portlet displays simple instructions on how to customise the display of portlets within Griffith Portal.
Staff News
Staff News provides information about Griffith which is relevant to staff.
Student News
Student News provides information about Griffith which is relevant to students.
Staff Announcements
Griffith announcements which are relevant to staff.

System Availability Notices
System Availability Notices displays scheduled work notices / messages about critical systems and applications. This portlet is always on.
