Maintenance calendar
Regular maintenance windows are scheduled for times which minimise adverse impacts on users. Every effort is made to perform maintenance of Griffith systems during these appointed times only.
The Maintenance Calendar shows the scheduled maintenance periods for the year.
Availability
The Griffith Portal will almost always be available and will continue to provide access to most intranet resources, even during maintenance windows. However, during a maintenance window or an emergency, one or more resources accessed through the Griffith Portal may be temporarily unavailable or may be available in a reduced capacity. At these times the Griffith Portal login page message area may be used to alert users to current and upcoming maintenance.
Login page message area
A message area towards the bottom of the Griffith Portal login page is used to inform and alert users about availability and maintenance. Under normal circumstances, when the Griffith Portal is fully operational and there is no upcoming maintenance, the login page message area will include default messages saying the Griffith Portal is available 24/7, is the gateways to all intranet services and users should log out at the end of their session to protect their privacy.

From time to time alternate messages are included in this message area to provide timely information about availability and maintenance. Some examples of alternate messages are shown below.
The high load image and a related message are shown to warn users the system resources are under load and could be significantly slower than usual. This often occurs during the first hours of enrolment periods as large numbers of students attempt to enrol in classes at the same time.
The upcoming maintenance image and a related message are shown to warn users in advance when upcoming maintenance will be conducted.
The under maintenance image and a related message are shown to warn users the system is currently under maintenance.
