The Menzies Foundation offers scholarships in Allied Health, Engineering, and Law.

Allied Health scholarship details

The purpose of the Sir Robert Menzies Memorial Scholarship in Allied Health is to improve the health of Australians by supporting an outstanding applicant from one of the non medical allied health disciplines.

The degree level for this scholarship is PhD.

Value and conditions

$25,000 per annum (income tax free).

Eligibility and other requirements

The Foundation has a preference for applicants in the disciplines of clinical psychology, nutrition, nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech pathology. The Foundation supports applicants who are working directly in applied clinical research. Projects in laboratory sciences are not supported.

The scholarship is open to persons who are working as full time students in a research PhD program only which is likely to be completed in the two year tenure of the scholarship. The applicant will therefore generally have completed the first stage of their PhD project. The scholarship is tenable at an Australian tertiary institution.

Engineering scholarship details

The universities principally in mind are those of Imperial College, Oxford and Cambridge. The Trustees will, however, receive and treat on merit applications for other universities or other institutions.

The degree level for this scholarship is Postgraduate or PhD.

Value and conditions

The scholarship provides emoluments to meet compulsory university fees and charges and to contribute substantially towards the cost of books, equipment, living and travel. They are revised from time to time to reflect changes in the level of fees and other expenses. Emoluments are not subject to United Kingdom income tax. Eligibility and other requirements

  • Must be an Australian citizen and resided in Australia for at least 5 of the past 10 years
  • At the time of application, must hold at least a 2A Honours degree in Engineering from an Australian University.
  • Applicants must nominate course of study on form

Law scholarship details

The universities principally in mind are those of Oxford, Cambridge, St Andrews and Edinburgh. The Trustees will, however, receive and treat on merit applications for other universities or other institutions.

The degree level for this scholarship is Postgraduate or PhD.

The scholarship provides emoluments to meet compulsory university fees and charges and to contribute substantially towards the cost of books, equipment, living and travel. They are revised from time to time to reflect changes in the level of fees and other expenses. Emoluments are not subject to United Kingdom income tax.
