The Rhodes Trust offers nine Rhodes Scholarships in Australia each year, one for each state and three for Australia at Large. A Rhodes Scholarship is tenable at the University of Oxford.

Scholarship details

Degree level

Postgraduate or PhD, however second undergraduate also acceptable.

Value and conditions

University Composition fees, approved College fees, stipend (currently GBP820/month), assistance with travel to Oxford.

Eligibility and other requirements

Must apply for entry to Oxford. Research candidates should contact Oxford department prior to submitting scholarship application to ensure research area available. Research candidates must provide evidence to the selection committee that they have been in touch with the relevant department and they have indicated that they can support the research project.

  • Applicant must not have passed their 25th birthday as at October 1 in their year of application.
  • Applicants are encouraged to contact the State Honorary Secretary to discuss application prior to submission
