2010 staff recognition awards
Alison Benson
Award for exceptional leadership and innovation relating to policy and/or business processing.
Left to right: Award winner Alison Benson, and Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research), Professor Ned Pankhurst.
Alison received four nominations from her peers for this award.
She has been nominated for applying her knowledge and expertise in the area of electronic administration processes to innovate and develop the largely paper-based systems previously used by GGRS, particularly in the admissions area. Alison has a constant desire to improve processing but she has listened well to ongoing feedback and made improvements along the way, often under time constraints.
Alison is innovative and thinks outside the square about how to improve processes so that GGRS is able to work towards offering better service to clients. "You can always hear Alison saying 'There has got to be a better way!', and most of the time Alison seems to find it!"
Briony Doolan
Award for exceptional client service and team work.
From left to right: Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research), Professor Ned Pankhurst, and award winner, Briony Doolan.
Briony received three nominations from her peers for this award.
She has been recognised for her exceptional skills in liaising with clients, and in particular how she relates personally and effectively with them. She is always willing to assist with her wealth of knowledge, and always looks to the future. She was also nominated for consistently working to support her colleagues, promoting a culture of teamwork and for her ‘can do’ attitude.
Briony always goes beyond the minimum requirements of her role to ensure she delivers excellent client service, and one nominee in particular commented that they are "...yet to see any client walk away from the front counter dissatisfied with the service she has provided."
