Council of Deans and Directors of Graduate Studies in Australia is a forum of representatives of universities engaged in graduate studies to discuss matters related to the provision, quality and advancement of graduate education.
The purpose of the Council is to promote excellence in training, research and scholarship and to seek to maintain high national standards for all graduate degree programs.
The Council of Deans and Directors of Graduate Studies in Australia acts as a convening body to bring together academic Deans and Directors with university-wide responsibilities for graduate education in seminars and working groups to facilitate the exchange of ideas and dissemination of information on graduate education.
In May 2005, Griffith University co-hosted the 2-day Postgraduate Research Administrators Taskforce annual meeting which included a number of joint sessions with the Council of Deans and Directors of Graduate Studies in Australia (biannual). The theme of the event was Measuring Quality in Research.
