Griffith Enterprise showcased the Griffith University’s Nature Bank to an international audience at the recent 5th International Conference on Mechanisms of Action of Nutraceuticals (ICMAN5) Conference held in Brisbane.
The ICMAN5 Conference took place on 13-15 October 2011 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre and attracted leading international researchers, clinicians and pharmacists as well as industry and government leaders, to discuss the latest research in nutraceuticals and complementary medicines.
Conference delegates had the opportunity to discuss the developments of therapies relevant to the prevention and treatment of chronic disease and conditions through plenary sessions, breakout seminars, posters and trade exhibitions.
It was the first time ICMAN had been held in the Southern Hemisphere and in the Asia-Pacific Region.
Griffith Enterprise used the Conference to network with industry representatives as well as show case Griffith University’s Nature Bank.
Griffith Enterprise Business Development Manager Dr Stuart Newman provided delegates with a presentation outlining the benefits of the Nature Bank and how it has become a valuable resource for drug discovery for local and international drug companies.
Dr Stuart Newman said, “This was an exciting opportunity to raise awareness of the Nature Bank and the research we conduct at the Eskitis Institute to an audience from the Asia Pacific region.”
