Mobile phones and accessories

Do you have an old mobile phone at home? Have you kept it just in case? The Australian Mobile Telecommunication Association's survey found that more than 12 million phones have been stored away at home as a 'just in case' back up. The study also found that 9% of phones are thrown away and 4% recycled.

Griffith University has signed up to AMTA's national mobile phone recycling program to help divert these toxic pieces of electronic equipment from landfill. By depositing your old phone into one of the recycling bins on campus, you will be ensuring an environmentally responsible outcome. Recycling stations can be found at:

  1. All library lending stations Mt. Gravatt, Nathan, Gold Coast, Logan and South Bank
  2. Southbank - Facilities Management Office and the Security Services Office
