Cardboard recycling

There are a three ways to ensure cardboard is recycled on campus. Cardboard can be placed in the 240L paper recycling bins providing it is firstly deconstructed (layed/squashed flat) or it can be placed beside the recycling bin. The third option is to take a walk and place it in one of the cardboard recycling cages around campus. Contact the Facilities Manager (ext 58888) for more information on cardboard cage locations or bulk collections.

Minimising cardboard waste

Refuse – Instead of just accepting the packaging that the product is delivered in, request the product without packaging or ask the supplier to take it back.

Reduce – Buy in bulk.

Reuse – Can the box be reused? Perhaps as a paper recycling box, for student assignments, to put folders in etc

Recycle – Ensure it is placed in the correct bin/cage so it is recycled and not landfilled.
