Energy and waste performance assessment
An environmental assessment of Information and Communication Technologies Services department of Griffith University was undertaken during November 2007. The project focused on identifying where the greatest energy inefficiencies in energy consumption exist within the department’s everyday operations – to reduce the department’s environmental impact and energy costs. The assessment revealed that over 50% of the ICTS under-desk waste stream consisted of recyclables, including office paper, plastic bottles, glass bottles and cans. These products should not be placed in your general waste bin. The assessment also determined that a high percentage of computers are left on afterhours.
