Power management settings on your computer
How to
- On a Windows 2000 or Windows XP computer click "Start" at the bottom left of your screen
- Select "Settings" from the menu and click on "Control Panel"
- Select "Display" in the control panel
- Click on the "Screen Saver" Tab at the top
- If the Griffith Standard Operating Environment is not loaded on to your PC you should Set Screen Saver to (None). If you have a Griffith SOE loaded on your computer this is preconfigured to activate a password protected screen saver after 15 minutes for security reasons i.e. you won't be able to change this setting
- Click on the "Power" button to the lower right (laptops may prompt you to open a different panel during this step)
- Set "Turn off Monitor" to a short time duration (5 minutes is recommended)
- Click ok when prompted

When your computer goes into sleep mode the screen will go blank. To re-activate the screen, just press a key or move the mouse and the screen will return to a normal state immediately
