3100GIH Innovation Practicum - Work Placement with Deloitte Australia

If you’re looking for an elective with a difference, you need to consider this innovative free-choice elective course.

By enrolling in this elective course you will

  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team, professional mentors and coaches to have direct impact on business strategy;

As part of the Innovation FASTRACK Challenge you will have access to recruitment, networking and business opportunities as well as $10K in prizes.

Course Summary

This course is an innovative, Work-integrated Learning experience where you participate in Deloitte’s globally recognised Innovation FASTRACK Challenge (FASTRACK). You will work in multi-disciplinary teams to develop a viable new business innovation.

Your team will be mentored by staff from Deloitte Australia and will be taken through a structured process to deliver a viable business innovation. In addition to developing a worthwhile innovation, your team will ultimately compete with other teams, and with other Universities for real recruitment, business and cash prize opportunities through Deloitte.

You can apply to enrol in Innovation Practicum from any Griffith Campus. Some travel will be required to Deloitte Brisbane offices on occasion and to meet with your team-mates.

  • Course profile.

Prerequisites

There are no prerequisite courses required, but you should be willing to be challenged, able to work independently and to deadlines, and be interested in innovation and in working in collaborative teams. Some level of experience working effectively in teams or groups would be an advantage but is not a prerequisite.

3100GIH Innovation Practicum is a third year level, free-choice elective course. As long as your degree program has capacity for a third year unspecified elective, then this course qualifies. This course is also a listed or specified elective in a small number of Griffith undergraduate degree programs. Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this course, you must:

  • be enrolled in Griffith University undergraduate program;
  • have completed a minimum of 80 credit points towards your degree;
  • possess a minimum GPA of 5.0 (or equivalent).

Entry to the course is based on the following selection criteria:

  • GPA (minimum 5.0 or equivalent)
  • Current Curriculum Vitae (2 pages max.)
  • Submit a written case addressing:
    • Why you want to enrol in this course and how it may support your learning / career objectives
    • Evidence of communication and leadership skills, and community engagement that would increase the likelihood of success in this course.
