Academic transition to Griffith
GIHE provides an academic orientation program which is designed to welcome and support all members of academic staff new to Griffith University. In order to ensure that new staff are well prepared for teaching at Griffith, all new members of academic staff are expected to attend this program. It features a welcome to the University by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ian O’Connor, and provides an important opportunity to network with new colleagues from around the University.
The Academic Transition to Griffith (PDF 514k) program covers essential information on such issues as:
- an overview of learning and teaching priorities at Griffith;
- key University policies and procedures;
- performance reviews for confirmation and promotion;
- evaluating and documenting your teaching;
- accessing information and support across the University;
- research development; and
- successfully managing your career as an academic at Griffith.
Registration is essential for all GIHE professional development events and staff are advised to register early to avoid disappointment. To register for any of the programs advertised, please respond to gihe-register@griffith.edu.au with your name, school and contact details.
