Professional development programs

Griffith recognises that staff require support to engage in high quality learning and teaching practices in the rapidly changing higher education environment. The GIHE supports academic work at Griffith through the provision of a broad, and multi-layered professional development program.

We coordinate an annual calendar of professional development activities aimed at assisting staff to acquire relevant skills and knowledge, explore key learning and teaching approaches, and engage with best practice.

Our calendar includes:

  • Accredited academic programs:
    • Graduate Certificate in Higher Education
    • Doctoral studies
  • The Professional Development Program for Academic Staff
(published at the commencement of each Semester)
  • Group-based and campus-specific workshops on key strategic learning and teaching priorities
  • Celebrating Teaching Seminars – showcasing best practice
  • Special events featuring international and interstate guest presenters
  • An institution-wide community of practice fostering the Scholarship of Learning and Teaching at Griffith
