Documenting your teaching
Griffith assures quality in its teaching , courses and programs through effective program planning, good practice in assessment, regular evaluation of courses and teaching, and program evaluation and review.
The GIHE supports quality enhancement in teaching through:
- professional development support for academic staff in leadership and teaching roles
- providing resources and advice on course and teaching evaluation
- mentoring for Griffith staff applying for institutional and national grants and awards
- showcasing best practice through Celebrating Teaching Seminars and leadership of two communities of practice: Scholarship of Learning and Teaching and Work-integrated Learning Curriculum design
- active participation in key University committees: Educational Excellence Committee, Programs Committee, University Learning and Teaching Committee and Group/Faculty-based Learning and Teaching Committees
The GIHE has produced Guidelines for developing Teaching Portfolios to assist academic staff who:
- wish to document their teaching for confirmation and promotion processes; and
- may provide peer review of the teaching achievements of colleagues
