The Griffith Institute for Higher Education is Griffith university's academic development unit. The GIHE provides evidence-based professional development programs and resources for academic staff, and is a leader in higher education research.

The GIHE staff team, guided by Griffith's Learning and Teaching Principles, work closely with academic colleagues and senior managers to address strategic priorities in learning and teaching in the University's Academic Plan.

Staff can register for professional development programs by emailing gihe-register@griffith.edu.au with the program name, your name, school and contact details.

Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (PDF 1.2MB)

Griffith's two year part time award program for academics emphasises practical strategies for improving course design, delivery and assessment and offers opportunities for advancing scholarship in learning and teaching. Tuition fees are fully subsidised for eligible Griffith staff.

New undergraduate WIL elective
5920GIH Innovation Practicum - Work Placement with Deloitte Australia. This course is an innovative, Work-integrated Learning (WIL) experience where students participate in Deloitte’s globally recognised Innovation FASTRACK Challenge (FASTRACK).  The course enable students to work in multi-disciplinary teams to develop viable new business innovations. 

Creating the Ethical Academy (PDF 59KB)
The GIHE will host a seminar on Creating the Ethical Academy:A systems approach to understanding misconduct and empowering change in higher education by Dr Tricia Bertram Gallant, Academic Integrity Coordinator from the University of California, San Diego on February 16 at the Gold Coast.
