The Griffith Institute for Higher Education is Griffith university's academic development unit. The GIHE provides evidence-based professional development programs and resources for academic staff, and is a leader in higher education research.
The GIHE staff team, guided by Griffith's Learning and Teaching Principles (PDF 88kb), work closely with academic colleagues and senior managers to address strategic priorities in learning and teaching in the University's Academic Plan.
Staff can register for professional development programs by viewing the available workshops and seminars and following the enrolment instructions, or by emailing gihe-register@griffith.edu.au with the workshop name, your name, school and contact details.
Looking for GIHE resources?
A project was recently undertaken to merge the resources from the GIHE website with the Learning and Teaching site. As a result, the majority of learning and teaching resources that were previously located on this site can now be found on the relaunched Learning and Teaching site.

Free-choice elective for students in Service Learning
Students can now choose a free-choice elective course that allows them to volunteer in the community for academic credit. This free-elective course provides an opportunity for students to link their academic learning with a community-based real life project of around 50 hours in Semester I, II or Summer Semester.

Students from all disciplines can FASTRACK to Deloitte's professional mentors, practical skills, cash prizes and employment opportunities; all in a 10CP elective. Griffith and Deloitte partner to offer an undergraduate elective with a difference. Applications now open.
