Andrew Stone
A life-long love of sport translated into a thrilling career for Andrew Stone.
"Studying the events business and running our own events while at Griffith gave me great practical experience." Andrew Stone
Andrew is the Operations Manager for V8 Supercar Events, a job he couldn't have secured without Griffith's sport management program.
"Core business studies like law, accounting and organisational and social behaviour and then event management also opened my eyes."
Now 15 months into his dream job, Andrew enjoys the satisfaction of having successfully run the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000, the Ferodo Tasmania Challenge and the Caterpillar Grand Finale.
You get such an adrenalin rush with so many things going on around you, and so many people there enjoying the event - all as a result of your organisation
Andrew's belief in the value of work experience has inspired him to join Griffith's industry mentoring program, which gives final-year business students the opportunity to learn on the job.
"Getting your degree in business is only the first of many steps in establishing a successful career. The practical knowledge of working and applying knowledge in your chosen field makes a graduate so much more appealing to potential employers," Andrew said.
