Peri urban research - Griffith
The focus of PURG research is change and continuity in rural and regional Australia - with particular emphasis on peri urban and coastal areas. Natural resource management, especially in coastal zones, is a key concern.
Current projects include investigations into:
- The sustainable management of peri urban areas proximate to rapidly growing metropolitan centres;
- Local government natural resource management; and
- Regional landscape planning.
