Prof Brendan Gleeson
Issues Paper
November 2008
This paper was originally presented at the State Library of Queensland in July 2008. A sporting chance: Accessibility of proposed AFL stadium locations on the Gold Coast (PDF 3270k)
Dr Matthew Burke, Rick Evans and Emily Hatfield
Research Paper
September 2008
This independent study explores site options for an AFL stadium on the Gold Coast. The study focuses on the proportion of residents who can easily get to each site via public transport - the only way for most patrons to get to modern stadia. The findings have implications for the viability of the stadium, the new Gold Coast Football Club and for the AFL code in Queensland.
