Courses

Undergraduate program

Griffith University offers a three year bachelors program in ecotourism at its Gold Coast campus, with environmental science and management subjects from the Griffith School of Environment, and tourism management subjects from the Griffith Business School. The course was first offered in 1993 and first graduates were in 1996. The precise format changes year to year. It is currently offered as a major in the Bachelor of Environmental Science.

Field courses

The University offers intensive international field courses in ecotourism on demand, organised by ICER through the two Schools as above. Previous courses ran to New Zealand, focussing on adventure tourism and park management; to Papua New Guinea, focussing on dive tourism; and to Nepal, focussing on community involvement. Planning for the 2009 course is underway.
