Research Expertise

Guy recently joined the School of Environment from South Africa in 2005 and is affiliated to the Centre for Innovative Conservation Strategies (CICS)
       
His research interests cover a wide range of topics with a terrestrial ecology and wildlife management focus, including:     

  • Large mammal ecology and management, (previously worked with rhino,   elephant, lion, and other large mammals),
  • Plant/herbivore and Predator/prey interactions
  • Threatened species management
  • Forest ecology and management, e.g. the role of ecological      processes such as seed dispersal
  • Landscape Ecology, disturbance and heterogeneity, patterns and      process
  • Determinants of biodiversity
  • Protected area planning and management
  •

Selected Publications

Guy has published 20 peer reviewed papers in the scientific literature and has contributed to 10 book chapters.  Guy has also been prolific in the production of over 100 applied species management and biodiversity monitoring reports covering a range of conservation biology issues.
