- Thesis
- A Comparison of Life History Strategy Across a Broad Geographical Range
- Description
- This project will analyse the population genetics, phylogeography and phylogeny of populations of Archerfish (Toxotes) from across northern Australia. Populations of Toxotes jaculatrix are primarily estuarine, while populations of Toxotes chatareus are estuarine/ freshwater. A primarily freshwater fish which is found across the same distribution range is Nematalosa erebi (Bony Bream). These three species will be compared to assess whether life history strategy affects genetic structure and gene flow between the coastal draining rivers of northern Australia.
