Thesis
Historic and contemporary patterns of dispersal in Australia’s northern rivers: integrating genetic markers with stable isotope analyses.
Description
I hope to combine stable isotope analysis with genetic methods of inferring dispersal. By using these two methods, I will be looking at historical phylogeographic patterns and contemporary dispersal in rainbowfish and grunters in the Fitzroy, Daly and Mitchell Rivers. In using genetic markers and stable isotope analysis dispersal patterns from historic through to contemporary times can be inferred, thereby showing the similarities and differences in fish populations.
