- Biogeochemical processes with Coombabah Lake and surrounding intertidal sediments (southern Moreton Bay, Australia)
- Description
- My research focuses on surface sediment biogeochemical processes within the shallow semi-urbanised sub-tropical Coombabah Lake system and regional sandier sediments of southern Moreton Bay. The principal objectives of my research include the investigation into the source and distribution of organic matter, and the seasonal variation of solute fluxes and nutrient cycling within Coombabah Lake sediments. Furthermore the research aims to investigate the effects of different burrowing macrofaunal groups on surface sediment biogeochemistry in muddy and mangrove detritus enriched sandy sediments.
