- Thesis
- Determining stream water quality outcomes from riparian management in pastoral landscapes
- Description
- Although naturally vegetated riparian zones have the capacity to reduce stream water quality degradation, there is uncertainty regarding actual water quality outcomes from riparian management in pastoral landscapes. This PhD research employs a hierarchical design, with field and GIS components, to investigate the impact of riparian management on water quality. Through incorporating catchment scale variables in a hierarchical analysis, this research will contribute significantly to our understanding of the relationship between riparian management, water quality, land use, and other factors that may influence riparian management outcomes in pastoral landscapes.
