Study
We advise prospective PhD students to:
- Prepare a one to five page summary of your educational background and research interest.
- Identify and contact the URP researcher you think best suited to supervise you research.
- Register your initial interest by completing a fact sheet for prospective doctoral candidate (PDF 74k) and returning it to the URP research manager Dr Stephen Horton.
Formal addmittance to PhD study is through the Griffith Graduate Research School. You should start this process as soon as possible. Admission to Griffith is solely at the discretion of the Graduate School. It is important to understand that the Urban Research Program cannot influence this process.
You may apply to the Griffith Graduate Research School at any time. To start the process consult the Higher Degrees by Research webpage. It contains useful links including 'how to apply' 'enrolment and fees' and 'ask a question'.
Griffith offers a number of highly competitive scholarships for both tuition fees and living expenses. Relevant information can be found under the Research scholarships link on the Higher Degrees by Research webpage. Applications for Griffith University research scholarships can be made during either the mid or end of year scholarship rounds.
Employment
The URP research workload has increased steadily. As such, every so often we have full time, part time and casual positions available to students, graduates and experienced urban researchers.
Further information is available by contacting the centre. Current vacancies can be found through the future staff section of the Griffith web site.
