Project description
This pilot research project developed new concepts of transport status that reflect the socio-economic context for transport need at the household level. The project tested a number of transport social status measures, notably 'transport stress', 'transport poverty', and 'transport need'. The pilot then undertook preliminary testing of these concepts via empirical analysis of transport status in the Gold Coast City Council area with a view to identify the framework for a thoroughgoing Australian Research Council linkage application that will significantly extend the study's conceptual and training development outcomes.
