Project description
The purpose of this project was to seek input from seniors in Gold Coast City about feelings of social isolation as a result of a lack of access to transport facilities, and to use this input to inform development of the 'council cab' program. The Council Cab program was initiated on a trial basis in June 2004 to assist people aged 60 and over, who do not have regular access to transport facilities. Research consisted of a literature review, spatial data analysis, key informant interviews and two focus group sessions with seniors in Gold Coast City Council.
