Review and re-conceptualisation of the approach to the management of open space provision and recreation facilities in Gold Coast City
Funding body: Gold Coast City Council
Project leader: Darryl Low Choy
Project members: Ben Cebuliak, Jill Czarnecki, Christine Smith, Jason Byrne
Project description: Many city regions acknowledge that open space plays a crucial role in defining a strong sense of place and identity for their area, contributing to a place's uniqueness, and promoting a positive image of their area to potential residents and visitors alike. However, under short term sustained economic and population growth pressures, these values, crucial to the long term viability of the city region, are put at serious risk. This project uses the Gold Coast as a case study region to reconceptualise open space provision and management for growing regions.
Expected outputs: Report to funding body
