Project description
The LUPTAI project develops a GIS-based land use and public transport accessibility index for mapping levels of accessibility to public transport and basic community services within local government areas. The LUPTAI aims to support the decision making process in the land use and transportation planning. It determines levels of accessibility by using a destination-based approach. This approach measures accessibility based on both walking distances and public transit travel time. The LUPTAI has been applied to a pilot study on the Gold Coast to assess its practicality and effectiveness.
