Project description
This project explored the range of definitions/interpretations of the concept of community capacity building and any emerging commonalities or consensus. A typology of the roles government can play in building community capacity in order to achieve well functioning, safe, engaged communities was identified from the literature and available case studies. Other jurisdictions (interstate and international) were then examined with regard to community capacity building and examples highlighted that provide some insight into the development of a community capacity development plan for the Queensland Department of Communities.
