Pursue your passion for the environment with Griffith's degrees in urban and environmental planning. Our towns and cities of the future need planners committed to creating sustainable built environments and vibrant communities. With an urban and environmental planning degree from Griffith University, you can be one of those planners making a difference.

Urban and environmental planning recognises the importance of balancing environmental issues with human activity in urban and regional planning practices, and develops specialist knowledge and skills including:

  • Urban environmental planning
  • Public involvement and community development
  • Environmental impact assessment
  • Environmental quality and pollution management

Our programs span a wide range of areas in urban and environmental planning, from design and development to law and tourism recreation planning.

You will learn from teachers who are active researchers in the field, and have access to dedicated state-of-the-art planning studios and computer laboratories with the latest software.

Go further in your career with Griffith's new Master of Urban and Environmental Planning degree. This program prepares you for work as both a traditional town planner and an environmental professional, and is recognised by the Planning Institute of Australia.
