The Coastal Community Engagement Program (CCEP) has been developed to maximise community understanding of natural coastal processes and management strategies. Bridging the gap between coastal decision makers and other stakeholders is necessary for sustainable coastal management. Community awareness, education and involvement are valuable tools towards long-term sustainable coastal systems.
The Centre seeks to encourage valuable community interaction through six main programs:

Queenslands coastlines are important and need to be protected to maintain a sustainable environment. Coastal vegetation is a key component to the management of dunal systems, as they provide a buffer against environmental variables, a habitat for coastal flora and fauna and stabilise the coastline via the capture of wind-blown sand. A healthy dune community maintains biodiversity, local character and aesthetics and provides connectivity corridors for native flora and fauna movement.
If you would like to make a donation to support GCCM and the Gold Coasts coastal environment through community education and dune maintenance please download a form (PDF 70.41kb).
All donations are FULLY TAX DEDUCTABLE as the Griffith Centre for Coastal Management as part of the Griffith University community is endorsed as a deductable gift recipient. Your donation will be acknowledged on the GCCM website.
