Consultancies, Collaborations and Grants

  • Rainforest Seed Project.
    A collaboration with the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney and funded by Allianz Australia Limited and Tony Maxwell and Robyn Godlee. A project for improving scientific understanding and conservation of Australia’s rainforest seeds.
    Seeds for the future web page

  • Partnership and collaboration with the Millennium Seed Bank Project, Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, U.K. Collection, Seed Biology Studies and Long-Term Storage of Queensland Native Flora. Associated research on recalcitrant-seeded species of horticultural value. This is part of the Queensland Seeds for Life (SFL) Project and the Australian partnership with Kew, AuSCaR.

  • 'Development of Sustainable Conservation Technologies for Tropical Fruits and Related Species'.
    ACIAR (Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research) funded project on the cCollaboration with Malaysia,Vietnam, Philippines and Thailand.
  • Collaboration with Bioversity International on the development of long-term storage protocols for papaya seed, including cryopreservation and the genetic integrity of papaya plants after cryopreservation in terms of genomic DNA, DNA methylation status and protein content.
    Biodiversity International

  • Consultant to Bioversity International on "Complementary Conservation Strategies for Tropical Fruit Tree Species". Sponsored via Asian Development Bank project involving 10 Asian countries.
  • Consultant for Bioversity International to produce a 'Status Report on the Development and Application of In Vitro Conservation and Use of Plant Genetic Resources'.
